How do cowboys spend their Father's Day?

What better way for a cowboy to spend his Father's Day...

at a fun day of Ranch Roping, of course!

Mark participated in the Northern Range Ranch Roping Series held at Camp Runamuck outside of Billings, MT on Father's Day ~ Sunday, June 21, 2009. Mark entered in the Open Division and had the opportunity to rope on two different teams with a great group of guys. One of the teams that Mark was on did a great job and ended up with quiet a bit of points!

Mark ~ I am very proud of you and all your accomplishments along the way! You know that I support you 100% and will be by your side all the way... I am so lucky to have a husband like you who loves adventures and isn't affraid to face any challanges head on.
Our kids are the lucky ones too,... they have a wonderful Daddy to teach them all about horses and the cowboy way of life!

A Bit About The Diaz Gang:

Mark J. Diaz was born in Santa Maria, CA and then moved to FL at the age of three. Mark spent his childhood in Florida and North Carolina. Mark has been on the back of a horse since the age of 15. During his teen/young adult years, Mark spent several years out West in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado working on ranches and training horses. In 1998 Mark married his high-school sweetheart, Jennifer L. Nelson. Mark now resides in Amarillo, Texas with his wife, Jennifer and their three children, Miles, Maya and Alejandra (Allie).

Mark is currently a horse trainer for a cutting horse facility in Amarillo, Texas. Mark enjoys his line of work and likes to share his interest of horses and cattle with others eager to learn. In 2010, Mark got his membership card for the NCHA and began showing cutting horses. In his first year Mark was very successful and finished out the 2010 year in 4th in the World Standings for the 2,000 Limit Rider class.

Jennifer L. (Nelson) Diaz was born and raised in FL. She moved to MT with her family durning her high-school years. She attended college at Northwest College in Powell, WY. During the summer of 2008 in Florida at Cracker Land & Cattle Co., Miles had the opportunity to follow in his Dad's footsteps four days a week learning all the basics about gathering, doctoring, and caring for cattle and horses. Below are some pictures from Miles' Summer on the ranch.

I thank Hunter Ketcham each and everyday for the opportunities that he gave my family while Mark was employed by him. He is a good, family-oriented man that allowed my children to learn about cattle, horses and ranch life; especially Miles. Miles enjoyed each and every moment he got to spend with his Daddy and the boys at Cracker Land & Cattle!
